Fight Funk With A Natural Deodorant That Works

lavanilla vanilla lavender deodorant

It’s been many years since I’ve used drug store brand deodorants. That’s because they contain chemicals in them that could cause breast cancer. That’s why I decided to go green with my deodorant.

When I first starting using all natural deodorants I was not aware of the many brands on the market. You know – the aluminum, petrochemical and phthalate free kind.

I first begin my all natural deodorant journey with Young Living’s deodorant. It’s not available in stores so I started using Tom’s. I didn’t care for that. It made me itch and didn’t last the full day. So, then I tried the crystal deodorant in solid and liquid…FAIL.  Then, I tried a few other brands. I really liked Alvera Aloes and Almonds and still have several bottles left.

I was most recently introduced to LaVanila and while I love the Alvera brand, I figured I’d give it a try.

LaVanila, The Healthy Deodorant

My Thoughts

I’ve been using the Vanilla scented LaVanila deodorant for over a week now and I am quite pleased with it. It glides on to your skin, feeling like velvet and t’s very gentle to the skin (I’m thinking it’s the Aloe Vera). I have to evaluate it during the summer months when I sweat more but for now it appears to be effective.

LaVanila healthy deodorant surprisingly remained effective for a full day. The Lichen, Lemon and Tea Tree Oils are responsible for that. Each of these essential oils is anti-bacterial. My only qualm is I don’t care for the smell. It’s not horrible. I’m just not a fan of Vanilla.

LaVanila retails for $10 for a .9 oz bottle. You save $2 if you purchase the 2 oz size. Either way that’s pretty expensive, even for natural deodorants. However, if you really like the quality and the scent you may find that it’s worth it. On most product review pages, the testimonials are mainly positive.

This deodorant can be purchased directly from LaVanila, from Sephora, the Beauty Bar, Amazon and other online retailers.

  1. Natural deodorants are extremely effective at combating body odour. Many natural deodorants contain antibacterial ingredients, such as tea tree oil or mineral salts to actively prohibit the formulation of odour-causing bacteria.
