A few weeks ago I received the Biore Steam Cleanser from a PR company to review at no charge. Normally, I reserve product reviews for Fridays but this one is a little past due.
About Biore Steam Activated Cleanser
Biore Steam Activated Cleanser retails for roughly $6
According to the manufacturer, this cleanser is activated by steam (duh). The beads within the cleansers penetrate deeply into your pores, locking onto and washing away impurities so you get a deep purified clean.
When you take your shower (effectively steaming up the bathroom), that’s when you should wash your face. Steam helps to open your pores which allows you to get a deeper clean.
Makes sense. Now, let’s get to what I believe are the Pros and Cons of this cleanser.
My skin is sensitive. This cleanser was very gentle and my skin felt soft and smooth afterward. I did not receive that tight feeling that some cleansers give after a “deep” cleansing.
I don’t know that this is actually a con because it’s not a bad thing. I just don’t find this cleanser to be any more special than others. You could steam your skin open and get a deep cleaning with other cleansers just as much as this one.
Last off, this is not an all natural cleanser if that’s what you’re looking for. it contains colorants and artificial fragrance so if you have very sensitive skin or just don’t want to use a face cleanser that’s not completely (or almost) natural, this isn’t for you.
I typically prefer cleansers that are more natural because of my sensitive skin so choosing to review this product was a gamble for me. Fortunately, I didn’t experience any breakouts or irritation. It could be because, while this cleanser is not all natural, it doesn’t contain any parabens which do tend to irritate my skin.
