Pre-Wash Regimen for Curlier More Hydrated Hair

As time passes, things changes. That goes without saying for life and more importantly for hair. Yes I do have my prioritizes in order.

In this video I share my new and improved pre-poo regimen. It leaves my hair well protected, curlier and super hydrated! I think I may have shared this in the past but it’s worth sharing again. Check it out:

In this video I also share how I finger detangle. I truly believe that the technique is great but the products are what have helped to restore a lot of my curl.

  1. I am so thankful to find your site! My husband and I just adopted two children from Haiti, a boy and a girl. I’m getting my duaghter’s hair re-braided for the first time tomorrow, so I wanted to try this regimen with her. I had to sort of improvise the products because I didn’t have time to order. I used Taliah Waajid African Healing Oyl, and an As I Am double butter conditioner. We took down her twist braids last night, as she will have a shampoo today with her hair appointment for braiding. I’m not sure how it’s going to work yet, but it was fun to just spend some time on her, getting to know what her hair is like, and making her feel special. Her hair is very curly, curlier than yours, and not as long as yours. I was very afraid that it would be extremely tangled, but it wasn’t too bad. The finger combing saved me, I’m sure!! Anyway, I love to read your posts, and I thank you for sharing your expertise. There was one happy little Haitian princess last night!! She loved the products and being fussed over. My bio daughter got in on the fun, as well, and it was a sweet time for us all to bond and learn something new, and appreciate some radiant brown beauty!! Blessings to you! πŸ™‚

  2. Kicking myself! Why have I still not went out to get this Vatika Oil!?? I’ve been massaging my scalp with an oil mix but have never tried the WGHO. Has it aided in hair growth?

  3. Ahem *cough, cough*

Mmmmm …. Did you find this wondrous, curl enhancing pre-poo combo somewhere?

Glad that it’s working out for you! I LOVES it! In fact, it’s going to be a Vatika Oil/GPB pre-poo for me in a few minutes. I’ve been bunning all week after skipping wash day this weekend. And I have’t re-moisturized since Saturday night … so my hair is in dire need of some TLC!! I really need to henna too, but think I’ll be using the TouchBack Hair Marker to conceal my exposed grey new growth instead;)!!

    1. umm wherever would that be? LOL I actually switch up the condish with the oil. Yes you turned me on to the Vatika oil and Thank you! Oh and the AO but girl you gotta try Vatika with Dove’s Nourishing Conditioner!

      1. I read your review of the Dove’s Nourishing Conditioner. But, I don’t remember you using it as a pre-poo! Now I’ll have to go back and check it out again!! But, you got it as a freebie, didn’t you? I’m on a buying freeze in regard to new stuff b/c I don’t have any room anymore and companies keep wanting to send me things!! It’s out of control under my cabinets!! But, I’ll make a mental note for the future;).

        1. yeah when I did the review for the post I used it to detangle with but mixing in that Vatika oil leaves the hair luscious! I did receive it free but this I think may replace HH. I love HH but that blue coloring has me a little off. The Dove has just as much slip and while its not all natural, at least it’s not all colored up LOL

  4. Hi Michelle,

Enjoyed this video. I have WGHO, but I haven’t figured out quite how I should use it. I have followed the directions, but I don’t like it, so I know what I will do, use it as a pre-poo.

I have the GPB conditioner too and I’ll start mixing it with my coconut oil.

    Your tips are greatly appreciated!!

    Take care,
