Simple End of Summer Hair Plans

Sometimes you don’t feel like it.

Hot sticky weather brings out all sorts of moods.

For me, it’s complacency. Complacency to the point that I just don’t feel like doing my hair. I’ve gone two weeks quite a few times this summer so far without washing my hair. I just did not feel like it.

We all have those moods right? In a way it’s a good thing. Yet, we still have to maintain our delicate strands if we want to keep them on top of our heads.

The end of summer is approaching and I’ve put together a very simple plan to care for my hair.

Daily Hair Care

There’s not much to do when your hair is in good condition. You just need to maintain it. For me, moisturizing my ends with a moisturizer (this varies) daily is usually all I need to do.  Every other day, that moisture comes by way of a tea rinse spritzed over my entire head which I then seal with a leave in conditioner and a little lavender Jamaican Black Castor Oil.

The only other practice I follow is doing a scalp massage after applying a hair growth oil. This is not a daily practice but is done every other day when I spritz with the tea rinse.

Bi-weekly Hair Care

Because I’ve grown accustomed to washing my hair every two weeks now, I think that during this season of my life that’s my happy place. So, I’m going to roll with it.

Washing bi-weekly allows me to extend the life of the style I’ve started enjoying…Braid Outs. I’ve never had success with braid outs…until now. I’m so happy that it’s finally work out because the braid out keeps my hair more stretched which in turn leads to far less tangling.

On wash day, I’ll be either shampooing or clay washing followed by deep conditioning with Curly Proverbz Cassia or Henna Hair Gloss. #OperationBeastModeHairGrowth is officially in effect!

Then, to style I’ll be stretching my hair in either bantu knots or rollers to prep for a braid out. This was the last one I did…..Loooove (in my high pitch voice):

That is all.

What are your hair plans to care for your hair the rest of the summer?
