On Tuesday, I received Influenster’s Sugar ‘N Spice VoxBox. If you read this post then you saw the unboxing.
One of the products in the box was Vaseline’s Spray and Go Moisturizer in Total Moisture. It’s a lightweight spray that is made with pure oat extract.
First impressions, I didn’t find this spray moisturizer very moisturizing at all. It was so light, it felt like it disappeared into my skin without a trace. I sprayed my arms and legs, focusing on rubbing it into my elbows and heels.
By the end of the day I realized that while Vaseline’s Spray and Go Moisturizer was not as thick and protective as a butter based product, my skin wasn’t too worst for wear.
The smell of this spray moisturizer is amazing. it’s light, fragrant and lingers for several hours. The fragrance includes citrus, floral and powdery notes. Soft and relaxing. Now, let’s talk ingredients.
INGREDIENTS: Water, Isopropyl Myristate, Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Avena Sativa (Oat) Straw Extract, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Tapioca Starch, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Stearic Acid, Dihydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Lactic Acid.
Y’all know how I feel about ingredients so I won’t go into a long spiel. Let’s just say, “These ingredients do not make me happy.”
I have a special needs child and I like to purchase products that I can also use on him. I would not use anything with parabens on him. Therefore, while I absolutely love the smell of this spray moisturizer, I wouldn’t purchase it.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t. If the parabens aren’t a concern for you (You know they aren’t if you regularly purchase drug store brands) then you may love this. It really smells amazing. It retails for about $8.00.
I guess this is a message to the manufacturer of Vaseline. PLEASE come up with an all natural alternative. I’d buy it and buy it again and again. I really do love the idea of a spray and go moisturizer.
Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.”
