FAITH INSPIRING FRIDAY | Press forward to the Prize

press toward the prize

Trouble doesn’t last always. Hold on to the profession (confession) of your faith.

Dorothy and the crew in The Wiz followed the yellow brick road because they expected to receive something once they reached the end of the road.

Perseverance and Expectation were the real themes of that movie. They pressed forward toward what they wanted and expected to receive.

Now, while that may not seem like the best analogy considering Dorothy and friends were duped, it still applies.

The only difference is you actually do have a prize at the the end of your road called life. The Lord awaits you so that one day He will be able to say “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

Before you can even reach that point, you have to persevere. You have to press. Press through trials. Press when pressed. Press when you don’t feel like it. Jesus gave you the ability to press.

Because, my friend, there is a prize. How do I know? Because God said so and He is not a man. He can not lie.

Spirit Food for Thought:

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
