I’m changing up the posting schedule a little here at Fine Natural Hair and Faith. On Mondays and Wednesdays I’ll be sharing all my hair related posts:
– Wash Days
– Product Reviews
– Fine hair styling tips
– Length retention & growth ideas
– Basically, anything hair!
Moving from Wednesdays to Fridays are the faith and inspirational based posts. Fridays will now be referred to as “Faith Inspiring Fridays.”
Fridays are the days when folks slow down a bit in preparation for the weekend. This is a good time to reflect on your week. It’s my goal to be led by the Lord to inspire you with faith for the upcoming week. Plus, “Faith Inspiring Fridays” just sounds nice 🙂
Today’s Reflection
The words “In Full Bloom” came to me while sitting and thinking about what to share.
When you receive a bouquet of flowers, they are typically in full bloom before they reach your hands. They go through natural stages of development: Seed, Germination, Growth, Reproduction, and Pollination.
A flower begins with a seed being planted. Then, Germination occurs when light, temperature and water are applied to encourage growth. Flower buds develop after the plant goes produces its own food by way of a process called photosynthesis. It grows up and within the bud a flower begins to form. Over time, the bud opens and blossoms into a mature flower which is the sexually reproductive part of the plant. Some flowers then self pollinate or rely on insects, birds, animals, wind, water, or other pollinators to carry pollen.
That’s a simplistic look at a single flower’s development before the process begins again. What a wonderful look at creation!
So, what’s that got to do with you?
Just like a flower goes through a process of developing, so do you as a human being. Before your life is in “full bloom,” you are going through a process. Not every stage of the process is pretty. Pressure is applied, your spirit is being fed, and while it may not seem like anything good is happening, growth is occurring.
Hold on, beauty is being birthed.
The challenges and pressures you face in your life are what help you to become the thing of beauty that God created you to be. So, hold on to your faith and bloom.
