Having a staple leave in conditioner is a very important part of an effective hair regimen. That’s because your leave in conditioner serves as the base to keep your hair nourished and moisturized from wash day and beyond.
It’s important to have a rotation of products so that your hair doesn’t get used to just 1 product. Such is the case for all of my stylers, cleansers, conditioners and all of my hair products.
Shea Moisture’s Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave in Conditioner made with Jamaican Black Castor Oil is one of my faves. I rotate it with Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in.
I also like applying deep conditioner from this line of the Shea Moisture brand as well. The products work synergistically with each other.
How I Use Shea Moisture “JBCO” Strengthen Grow and Restore Leave In
On wash day, my leave in conditioner is the very first “leave in” product I add to my hair after my final rinse. I apply a generous amount of the Strengthen Grow and Restore leave in conditioner just prior to sealing all of the moisture into my hair with an oil and/or butter (determined by the temperature outdoors).
In addition to using this product on wash day, I’ll often apply a little of the product to my ends throughout the week when it’s feeling a little dry.

This leave in conditioner moisturizers my fine strands without weighing them down. It also imparts strength to my hair by way of hydrolyzed keratin and hydrolyzed vegetable protein.
Keratin is the main structural material or key building block of skin and hair. It’s also a protein. Both the keratin and vegetable proteins have been broken down (hence, the term hydrolyzed) into a small enough form so that it can adhere to the hair shaft.
