When it comes to finding the best beauty and hair products for curly hair types on a budget, look no further than these Target hair product finds.

I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for the latest trends and top deals on beauty products. Target carries just about every beauty item you need and they are a formidable rival to Walmart and more. Target is my favorite retailer for so many things beauty related. Some of the personal care products you can purchase at Target at the best prices (many with five-star reviews) include:

• Bath bombs
• Skin care serums
• Hair products like: hair masks, regular shampoo, dry shampoo, leave-in treatments, curl cream, hair gels
• School essentials

Personally, I’ve always preferred shopping at Target over other similar stores. Over the years they have truly enhanced the Target experience by redesigning their stores and offering even more products containing natural ingredients and plastic-free packaging.

Unless you live under a rock, you know that Tracee Ellis Ross created a special hair care line for curly and textured hair called Pattern Beauty. it includes a variety of clean hair products from cleansers conditioners, hair treatments and even styling tools like their signature hair pick.

You can find most of the products in the Pattern Beauty line at Target at their Ulta Beauty store section. How awesome is it that Ulta Beauty is now a part of the Target family?!

I don’t know what’s more important to us ladies…our conditioners or our stylers! Of course, they both have their role to play.

Here are some of the conditioners and stylers that I personally love, have used over the years and are available at our fave beauty retailer.

Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave In Conditioner – This is the very first leave in conditioner I fell in love with when I first went natural over 20 years ago and it still ranks tops for me today.

Eden Bodyworks Almond Marshmallow Hydrating Serum – I discovered this hair serum right around when it was first launched and was introduced at a Curlfest beauty event. If you struggle with dry, brittle hair, this is for you.

TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask – If you’re looking for a deep conditioner that hydrates the hair and helps to balance out the strength of a protein treatment, look no further.

TGIN Miracle RepairX Leave in Conditioner – I really love all things TGIN and this leave in conditioner is a good one for weak strands.

Camille Rose Naturals Fresh Curl Hair Smoother – I love all things Camille Rose and this is my favorite product from their pink line. It’s rich in oils and leaves your hair super moisturized. I also like to use this as a styler for protective styles.

Kinky Curly Knot Today Curling Custard Styling Gel – more of a jelly like consistency, this product is great for defining curls. It works even better when you use the leave in with it.

Grooming Tools

When it comes to styling curly hair, there are certain hair tools we need. These include (but are not limited to) detangling combs and brushes. Detangling is a huge deal for those with curls and coils. So, it’s important to use the most gentle tools in conjunction with your fingers. Here are my picks that you can find at Target:

Tangle Teezer for Naturally Curly Hair – gentle detangling brush that also helps to make those curls pop

Conair Ceramic Wooden Boar Bristle Brush – Everyone needs a boar bristle brush to smooth out the perimeter of the hair. Think: ponytails and updos.

KeaBabies Baby Hair Brush and Comb Set – let’s not forget the little ones. They need styling tools that are gentle as well. This pick wooden hair brush and comb set is as gentle as it comes. Just check the reviews. It’s also available in a number of colors.

Annie Double-Sided Edge Brush –  (not a detangled but a necessity for laying those edges!)

Under $5 Styling Products

Styling curly hair does not need to be pricy. Here are a few popular curly hair products you can find at Target for under $5. Of course there are others and some are sample sizes but sometimes that’s all you need!

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture and Shine Leave in Conditioner – This is an amazing shine spray for finishing off your curly and straight hairstyles alike

African Pride Hair Moisture Miracle Strengthen and Protect 5 Essential Oils – This oil blend is formulated to seal in moisture and add shine to kinks, coils and curls. It’s got consistent five-star ratings

African Pride Moisture Miracle Aloe and Coconut Water Detangle and Condition Pre-Shampoo – A super moisturizing detangling product to use before you go in with a shampoo that gets it all done for under $5 (not bad for 12 ounces of product). Also a five-star reviewed product.  

Blue Magic Anti-Breakage Hair Dress – So many naturals are reporting how going back to the basics of using hair grease has greatly improved their length retention. I remember my mom using Blue Magic hair grease on my hair when I was a child as well! It may not be what some would call a clean beauty brand but it’s certainly effective for sealing in moisture.

They always seem to be having promotions on the textured hair care products at Target. For example, as of the writing of this article, if you buy 4 of their selected personal care items (including hair care), you will receive a $5 Target GiftCard. While not all items are on sale like this, this promotions are certainly the norm.

What’s great about the Target experience when it comes to shopping is you can use order pickup and skip the lines. In other cases, you can get same day delivery on your purchases. However, if you’re anything like me, you want to make a Target beauty run for some face to face action! In this case, buy online, make your Target run and request curbside delivery.
