Fine hair problems

People with fine hair have problems that other hair types don’t have to deal with. Yet, for every hair problem, there’s a solution.

Some solutions to hair problems are temporary but as long as you are able to experience the “transformation,” that’s all that matters.

If you have fine hair, you may never be able to fully get rid of the fine hair problems I’m about to share but at least you’ll have some easy tips to help you deal with them.

Problem #1: Lack of volume

Solution: Embrace a tighter curl

I bet you thought I was going to say something ridiculous like “Tease your roots.” Yeah. No – not unless you want to just break your little strands before they even get a real chance at life.

When lacking volume, pump it up by curling your hair up in tight curls. Then, fluff them up to give the illusion of volume.

For those with naturally curly hair, the wash and go can be your go to style for achieving more volume on fine hair.

Problem #2: Your curls fall flat

Right up there with volume issues, it’s similar but not the same. Fine hair tends to have difficulty holding a curl. Here are two solutions:

Solution A: Roller/rod set your curls using a liquid hair setting product
Solution B: Set your wash and go curls with a firm holding gel paired with a light weight moisturizer

Problem #3: Hair frizzes easily

While frizz typically causes loss of moisture in the hair, that’s not always the case. Sometimes, the very act of touching your hair while styling causes frizz.

Solution: Use non-latex gloves when handling your hair.

Problem #4: Hair tangles easily

Solution: Use a conditioner with a good amount of slip that helps you to detangle your hair without causing breakage. The product should also provide protection from further tangling.

Solution part 2: Add a lightweight oil (jojoba, almond, argan) to your conditioner or apply the oil to the ends of your hair after detangling.

Problem #5: Products easily weigh your hair down

Solution: Just because your hair is easily weighed down by hair products, doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t use hair products at all. In fact, when you use the right product, you’ll find that your hair will respond much more favorably.

Problem #6: Your hair doesn’t go past a certain length

Solution: Up your length retention game

Easier words have never been spoken right? Surely, you’d be doing all the things possible to retain length if longer hair were your goal. Let’s just say for the sake of argument (and we aren’t really arguing because we are virtual friends!), you don’t know all the things you could be doing to retain length.
