Last updated on August 5th, 2024 at 08:26 pm
If you’re looking for quotes about stepping out on faith, you are in the right place. Here at Fine Natural Hair and Faith, my focus is mostly on caring for fine natural hair, but there are times that I like to shine a light specifically on the things of faith. Especially, because when your daily life is built on faith, you will experience the beauty of God’s grace.
The quotes you’ll find here aren’t just quotes by some famous poet, positive thinking guru or spiritual influencer like William Woodsworth, Rabindranath Tagore or Mahatma Gandhi.
No. These aren’t just some motivational quotes or inspirational faith quotes to make you feel good. They are true quotes on faith based on Bible verses from God’s Word and quotes spoken at one time or another by true men or women of God.
Also, it’s important to first focus on scripture as written in the Holy Bible. So, you’ll find some bible verses on faith as well.
Refer back to these regularly and use them for faith Christmas quotes to support your Christian faith.
However, even though not all of these faith based quotes are from strong men and women of God, they can be beneficial so I did add them to their own section below.
What is Faith?
Before sharing some faith verses and quotes, let’s look at some definitions of the word “faith.” There are basic dictionary definitions and there are definitions that come by revelation from an encounter with God and His Word.
According to a few dictionary definitions, faith is:
- complete trust or confidence in someone or something. (Google dictionary from Oxford languages)
- strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. (Google dictionary from Oxford languages)
- belief and trust in and loyalty to God (Merriam-Webster)
- confidence or trust in a person or thing (Dictionary.com)
- belief that is not based on proof: (Dictionary.com)
Definitions by Revelation
Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
So, let’s look at some deeper meanings of the word Faith. The first one is what I discovered after doing a word study of “Faith” from Hebrews 11:1.
- Faith is always a gift from God, and never something that can be produced by people. For the believer, it’s God’s divine persuasion of His will. It’s God’s warranty that guarantees the fulfillment of the revelation He births within the receptive believer. Faith is an entire confidence or trust in God’s character and doctrines of Christ, with an unreserved surrender of the will to His guidance, and dependence on His merits for salvation.
WOW! There’s so much to unpack there and I was given all of that by doing a simple word study. - Faith is a practical expression of the confidence we have in God and His Word. Real Bible faith is faith in the love of God. (Dr. Creflo A Dollar)
- Faith is acting on what you believe, but what you believe must be based on what is written in the Word. Faith and the Word of God are synonymous terms. You cannot have one without the other. I like to think of faith and the Word like wet with the water. If you get the water, you get the wet, because wet is a characteristic of water. You can go to a restaurant, order a hamburger and say, “Hold the onions.” But you cannot say, “Bring me some water and hold the wet,” because wet goes with the water. (Dr. Frederick KC Price)
As you can see, when defining the word “faith,” there’s much more to it than what the dictionaries have to offer.
Also, just to be clear, faith and belief are not the same. It involves belief but it goes beyond human believing. As a result, it involves the personal revelation (in-working) of God.
Now, without further ado, below you’ll find a combination of 37 verses and quotes about stepping out on faith. These will help develop you from little faith to taking a leap of faith.
Great things happen when you feed your soul and spirit life giving words.
