Second Day Poppin’ Curls with Hang Time

It was Independence Day. While I didn’t have any solid plans, one thing I was sure of was that I had to wash my hair. Hey, a girl has priorities.

So, in an effort to use up products that I don’t plan to repurchase, I stumbled upon an old jar of Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie in my closet. It was half full (or half empty, depending on how you view life). I recalled that this product yielded great results for a wash and go.

Hydration + Hold

The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is super thick and really hydrates curls. When using it for a wash and go, I find that I get super explosive curls. Yet, the freshness doesn’t last without frizz for more than a day. That’s because using the smoothie on it’s own doesn’t provide enough hold. So, I returned to my ole faithful smoothie and gel combo by layering EcoStyler Curl and Wave Gel over it.

Voila… The Winning Wash and Go

While, the pink EcoStyler gel will forever be a staple (I won’t ever allow my closet to be free of it), I had not used this gel to do a wash in go in well over a year! That’s what happens when you start trying every new product under the sun!.

Sometimes, you have to return to what you know. Especially, when you are looking for consistent results you once had but can’t seem to replicate with other products.

A Prayer for Our Hair:

Dear Lord, Please open the eyes of our understanding and help us to return to what we know, for our hair and our souls. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I have a very similar hair texture to yours and have been stuck in a serious rut with my hair lately. I figured I’d start over with researching my hair type and texture and stumbled on your site and just want you to know how thankful I am to have found you not only for your hair but also because we share a faith in Jesus Christ! I was just reminding myself that I have to give everything over to The Lord, even my frustrations with my hair and then I see this post and the prayer at the end. So thankful for this much needed encouragement. Be well and I look forward to visiting your site again. Happy New Year!

    1. Hello Ericka-

Welcome to the site and happy new year to you as well 🙂
Definitely give your concerns over to the Lord. He gives us wisdom in every area of our lives (even caring for our hair). All we need to do is ask.
