When You Think You’re Alone
God said:
“I’ll never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5
Then why do we sometimes feel alone? Why do we sometimes feel like we aren’t able to connect with others? It’s like we’re all alone in this world.
I submit to you that it’s highly probable that you are not connecting with the One that created you. Every feeling of loneliness and discontentment can be traced back to a disconnection from the Creator.
God is love. He is the Source of all joy and fulfillment. When you don’t spend time communicating with Him through prayer or reading His Word, it’s very easy to feel lost in this world we leave in. I’ve had these feelings myself.
I realize when I spend time in prayer and reading the Bible, a sense of peace settles on me. Even Christians can feel lonely but God has a way of filling that void. We just have to turn to Him and stay connected.
The next time you feel lonely, look to God. He’ll show you that He’s there and will never leave you alone. Receive it by faith even when you don’t “feel it”.
Humans will lie to you (even when they may not mean to) but God never lies. He can’t. Take comfort in that and in these other verses of Scripture:
- God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent. Numbers 23:19
- And the LORD, He it is that doth go before thee; He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8
- I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:8
Really needed this word today. This week has been very challenging and I have felt alone. I have not been in the word or prayer as much as I should. Thanks for this very timely reminder.
Whatever you’re going through, remember “This too shall pass.” I know that’s easy to say when you aren’t in the midst of a crisis but we have to stay focused on the fact that God will never leave us nor forsake us.
Glad I could provide the reminder.
