Pillow Soft Curls on Natural Hair: 2 Techniques to Get Them

Pillow soft curls on natural hair are absolutely gorgeous. They can take very little effort to do on hair that’s been straightened but look quite effortful.

In this short article, I’ll share with you 2 techniques for doing soft bouncy curls using 2 different tools – both are fine hair friendly. The techniques yield slightly different results and I do not always “lay” my edges. That’s optional based on the look you are going for. It’s cool to keep it “natural.”

One way to achieve curls that look like soft waves is to use a heatless curling set. It consists of one jumbo-sized satin-covered rod that’s super flexible. Plus, a clip to hold it in place and 2 satin scrunchies.

Another way to achieve those pillow soft curls is to use satin rollers that snap closed. There’s a slight learning curve with these but once you snap them correctly, they stay put.
