Refreshing Loose Twists
Last updated on September 2nd, 2022 at 08:17 pm
Loose twists are an absolutely effortless hairstyle on natural hair. They don’t typically last as long as tighter twists so you need to go about refreshing loose twists between wash days.
In the video below I demonstrate my method for gently refreshing my loose two strand twists. The reason this is a gentle process is there are no hair tools (other than my fingers) used.
Refreshing Loose Twists – Video
As you can see in the video, the process is very simple and you can easily extend your wash day by doing this method if loose twists is something you like to do.
Having fine natural hair, it’s not easy to wear the same style for an extended period of time because the hair can easily begin to tangle and lock up. That’s why this method to refresh loose twists is helpful.
Products Used to Refresh the Twists
The products used in the video are:
- The Mane Choice Tropical Moringa Daily Restorative Spray
- Melanin Hair Care Twist Elongating Styling Cream
I will be using these hair products for the duration of the month including another set of the same hair products. It’s a part of my February Monthly Simplified Hair Routine.
Monthly Simplified Hair Routines
To provide a quick overview, the monthly simplified hair routine consists of the following:
- Using the same set of hair products to cleanse, condition and style your hair
- Styling your hair in the same hair style for an entire month
- Follow the same for each month of the year
- Use the monthly hair planner printable worksheet and define hair goals. You can find the monthly printable hair plans on Etsy here.
There’s a number of benefits to this simplified hair care system. You can read about them here: 2021 Monthly Hair Care Plans. Here’s a related article on How to Organize Your Hair Care. You’ll want to use this as a complimentary resource to following monthly hair plans so that your hair routines are easier to follow.
My February Hair Plan
To provide you with an idea of how the plan works, here’s an example of my February Hair Plan where I notate my style of the month being loose twists.
I’m updating the form to include a place to focus on a monthly hair scripture. That will be available on my Etsy shop as well (end of the week as of the writing of this post).
Lastly, I’ll be sharing my hair plan for March toward the end of February. If that’s something that interests you, please subscribe here on the blog (there’s a form in the column to your right) or on YouTube where I will do a detailed run down.
